Greetings from summer vacation

Its been a great summer in Finland. Sun was shining all the time when I travelled around middle and western Finland and met friends and cousins. I was in sauna almost every day which is rare to me, even sauna is a very popular here in general. I think it just makes me a bit too relaxed, so normally I try to avoid sauna.

After performing some of my 12 string guitar instrumental songs on private occasions this summer I finally got a setup to record two of them to my home computer. I’m planning to release whole album with 12 songs later and I thought to put these songs as a sneak preview to album which is called “Virtues”. All songs on album (except first) are named by general virtues and there is a story behind them all, but details will be published when album is ready. Here I only state, that these songs are kind of introductions to the remaining songs which describe sevenfold principles of human being with associated virtues.

Home setup I’m using is: iMac 24″, GarageBand (reverb added), PreSonus firewire interface, Harley Benton 12 string acoustic guitar with internal mic + AKG 1000 external mic. Songs are recorded with one take.

hello! it’s the first time i’m listening to 12 strings guitar and honestly i find it very awesome and you’re a great performer!
I just started playing acoustic and electric ones for 7 months and hope one day reach the same level!
best thoughts for your album project! any myspace account to share more? @+

    Thank you for wishes!

You will reach if practice hard. My tips are: learn different scales, rhythms and chords, study different music styles and players. Play with metronome, without metronome, single and band. Eventually after some years try to find your own style. We all have individual maneuvers, moves, melody progressions and details which are just to be founded and sophisticated. When you find it, its a lot of joy!

I dont have mypace account, maybe I should greate one, ’cause I have a lot of earlier recordings, that could be shared.

So beautiful! I am new to Twitter because I am an reticent “old lady” but OMG, now I see why I will become addicted to it, too! My kind of people are here! (I live in a tiny Kansas town without any one I can relate to!) What a gift Twitter is to the arts community–and the rest of the world. “Rosalea Ain’t Dead Yet!”

Doomyflo: I never had guitar teachers so I know its longer and harder way. Fortunately there is a plenty of free lessons on internet nowadays, I wish I had same opportunity, when I started. :) Your link guided to an interesting Finnish band called “KorpiKlaani”. Metal and traditional folk music combines. Not bad.

kanrose: Glad to hear that! Twitter is full of nice people, I agree. Very good news and inspiration source also.

Having a teacher ( when you succeed to find one) helps us to keep motivated and have the right positions of fingers but i ‘ll stay a totally autodidact ….i must admit youtube is my guide for certain songs and also testing models of guitars ( help to choose my electric)!
finnish metal scene is my fav one! it goes from korpiklaani to shape of despair as you can see on my myspace profile… you have luck to live in that culture! here in France it’s not the same in the medias unfortunatly….bye

Bring that guitar to Kansas! Buy a seasonal cottage here for a little of nothing, and let your music bring joy and hope to our lives! This town is filled with sad addicts. Keep on keeping on!

Thanks for suggestion Rosalea. Its a long way to Kansas from here, but you never know. Even the longest trip starts from the first step. :)
