This video was selected as the winner of the World Economic Forum and YouTube’s “Davos Debates” program, at youtube.com/davos – see more videos and submit your own, and keep an eye this week as the leaders at Davos respond to your videos. Pablo Camacho 24 years old Student (and independent writer) Bogota, Colombia, South America This is my answer to the quetion “Should company executives have a code of ethics similar to doctors and lawyers?” (Excuse the sudden jumps on the video; I had to make some cuts which decreased the depth in content out of respect to the 3 minutes limitation) Thank you World Economic Forum for your attention; and for making us pay attention.

On the topic of ethics. The rats are jumping ship.
CHEMRISK – a research company hired by the Corn Refiners Association has recently taken down it’s YouTube channel.
The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the discovery of dangerous levels of MERCURY in HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.
See one of the last remaining ChemRisk videos at CornRefinersAssoc on YouTube.
Important discussion and key decisions are of even greater importance!
This guy has it perfect except for one thing there is another element in the mix that controls financial transactions around the world. When they say it is time, the world wil be back to “normal”.
you are absolutely right on..This economic crisis started brewing in the seventies. A group of financial elites came together and formed a pact to keep the finances secure throughout any political upheaval that occurred throughout the countries. They are in control now until the financial market settles down again. Then the “free” market will continue.

I am from tennessee! and I am a intellectual and a liberal!!! along with a very ethical person. sure about 24% of the people here are millionaires or biggits. but not all of them. think before you speak!

Freedom of markets means freedom for criminals?

Ethics – “it is the survival of the fittest”
Our world has big problems:
What is legal is not always ethical.
And human need to survive.
Solution: human need to be immortal.
you look like a dirty Mexican, who the fuck is going to listen to you… fucking animal
Sad that this is the best thinking that could come of out Davos. Nothing is really said about how to change CEO behavior. We’ve tried cash compensation and seen outlandish base pay; we’ve seen cash bonuses and , again seen, outlandish pay; and, finally, we have tried stock incentives only to CEOs shorten their vision and do the most expedient, often at the expense of the company and its stakeholders. I did not find this video compelling or actionable, especially in the real world.
Said perfectly!
GOOD LOGIC
MAD IS SLANG FOR GOOD
MAD LOGIC
When slumped countries are economically hi-jacked, just as this guy said, even political orientation becomes in the interest of finances. It is not does a doctor, a lwyer, or a CEO need ethics, to the credit of us having the capacity, we all should have ethics.
you can’t legislate ethics. What we need is a function economic system… if money motivated people to be ethical, there wouldn’t be a problem.
So then… How do you design a monetary system wherein moral and environmental responsibility is profitable?

you got it brother…the base of properly executed capitalism is being (or has been)chewed away from the bottom up because of these two rules .going through the patent process will teach anyone this ……..it is very sad what these corporate wolves have done to our country
If Corporations have Equal rights, then the penalties of Crimes Against Humanity SHOULD hold sway to them as well.
